Being Amina Massood

Mrs. Amina Massood is just one more reason why General Musharaff should not be ‎known for his brutality but for perverted shamelessness. And if your pappy works for the ‎Civil or military establishment you should take a minute to tell him what I am about to ‎tell you. ‎

On July 30 2005, Mrs. Amina husband was picked by the security apparatus for being a ‎terrorist and it was all in thing air till that time. The man who provided for her and her ‎children simply disappeared and has not returned to date. She claims that her husband has ‎been taken by the ISI. Now we don’t know if he was the reincarnations of the devil or ‎just a plain guy who like me could not keep his mouth shut. But the fact of the matter is ‎that nothing is know about his wear abouts. The government has not recovered him. Then ‎one days Mrs. Masood lost her cool and protested outside the offices of the ISI, the only ‎logical place where she should have done it and as a citizen of Pakistan has a right to do. ‎How dangerous can a woman in her 40s with two children be? ‎

Now for the part that really disgusted me. While she protested the police came and took ‎her 16 year old son away. This would have been just another atrocity but before they took ‎him into the police station they took of his shalwar and handed it to his mother. In shock ‎it takes her a few seconds to realize what had happened. It took me a while as well. Since ‎that time I have been filled with a feeling of disgust. ‎

These are the same dirty people whom you and I pay good money to keep employed. ‎These are the people who are expected to protect my wealth, honor and family. And yet it ‎is these same people who are perpetuating the most disgusting crimes in the country. And ‎when the Chief Justice took his action in order to protect the citizens it was our supreme ‎protector who came on television and told us that it was our privilege to be tortured by ‎the government and those that complain are just being unthankful. ‎

I watched the video again and thanked the Lord that my father was just a simple English ‎teacher who choose to stay out of establishment. By the way what does your Pappy do? ‎

Follow to link and take a minute to figure out what this woman is going through. ‎

South Asia and the Asians that live in them: How they change and how they remain the ‎same

Two taxi drivers in my daily commute tell me the same story and its goes "they came and ‎they killed our relatives and children. The Pakistan Army was brutal and there were ‎thousands that lay about never to be remembered ". What makes this story remarkable ‎that the story is the same but one is Bengali the other is from Swat. They were both ‎Pakistanis once. ‎

What drove these people to such violence? And why did they take up arms against a ‎professional force? And why do they think that the Pakistani army was something alien to ‎them? Instead of being a defender it was thought of being a conqueror? ‎

It is easy to explain that they are bastards and a foreign hand is involved and that they are ‎just plain crazy people. But in our hearts they are people who want to live a good life. ‎They want all the things that you and I want. They have all the problems that you and I ‎want. They love and die and shit just like you and me. At the end of the day they are ‎humans and apart from some rare psychologies they are on average peace loving people ‎who want a better life. ‎

Something is seriously wrong with the state of Pakistan and the Pakistanis that live in ‎them. We have a lesson from history. Those that support the general today stand by a ‎man who is promoting a dangerous trend. ‎

Is Lawless better than a society by laws made by the consenus?‎

This really Sucks

You know, I was going to crack a lot of jokes on how the Government of Pakistan knows ‎exactly who many bombers are going to strike the Chief Justice and Benazir Bhutto. The ‎government always has the prediction correct. The CJ rally in F-8 was attacked. ‎Similarly, there was an incident in the 18th of September. The prediction was also correct ‎about the 12 of May 2007. I was also going to joke about the fact that Generals should be ‎incarcerated tin order to improve the law and order situation in Pakistan. ‎

But one should not joke about a time when a Mad king runs Pakistan and he is willing to ‎kill his own just to keep himself in power. What is a joke going to be now? ‎

Sorry, I was wrong! Musharaff Cannot be Fired!‎

He cannot be fired. The last person who tried to do this was sent to jail. John ‎Negroponte might not be sent to jail but he might be dealing with a man who is to ‎stubborn to know the honorable thing to do from the things that is in "National ‎interest". ‎

General Musharaff, You are fired!‎

He is going to be fired. Here is the reason why. ‎

General Musharaff is the CEO of a commercial enterprise that provides security ‎services across the country. Please note that related businesses are also army owned ‎but they are not controlled by general Musharaff directly and therefore are not ‎included in this analysis. ‎

The revenue comes from two sources. The numbers are given for the year 2007 are ‎estimated below. ‎

Revenue from people of Pakistan: US$ 18.6 billion (this includes the entire defense ‎burden). Officially the budget is estimated to be US$ 4.1 billion for the year 2007. ‎
Service revenue from War on Terror: US$ 1.42 billion per year (average for seven ‎years) ‎

The revenue per employee is an estimated US$ 32,000 per year. Please note that the ‎US$ 18 billion is contributed from the 165 million bloody civilians. The average ‎revenue per subscriber is estimated to be US$ 112 per person (remember that the ‎government itself claimed that the average per capita income in estimated to be US$ ‎‎900 per year). The US on the other hand makes a single contribution to if US$ 1.42 ‎billion to the business. For this they have gotten an ineffective contractor in the war ‎against terror. ‎

Now the US government want its moneys worth and they have been asking the army ‎to do more. The Bush administration is being pressured by the US tax payer to make ‎stop using their money for the mess that is being created in Pakistan. They might ‎withdraw that money and give it to Afghanistan instead or India. But that is a risk ‎they would probably want to change the CEO. If the Mad kind resists then he would ‎be thrown out. The shareholders would not want to loose revenue. ‎

The Sadness of King Musharaff ‎

There are some scary things that are happening. King Musharaff is loosing it and it is ‎not a benign madness but there are signs of a psycho pathology. This Sunday when ‎King Musharaff faced the media he did something that sent shivers. He openly said ‎that the foreign media should be given priority over the "bloody civilians" that had ‎come to question the general. The General spoke in English. He seemed to give more ‎preference to his western donors than the local tax payers. This can only mean thing ‎that the brutality that the public, media and the judiciary is being subjected to is just ‎the tip of the ice berg. There is more to come. ‎

There is even more to the madness that meets the eye. Here is the excerpt from this ‎latest interview. I think I am pretty good at speaking Martian but the meaning was ‎totally lost to me. Read on. ‎

‎"I do feel let down when people don't understand. But let me say, I feel more ‎let down, not by the governments because I know how they feel, I have ‎spoken to so many world leaders, so many world leaders have rung me up. ‎So you don't know what they have told me, ok? ‎
Now, I am disappointed and let down by the media. Let me put it very bluntly. ‎It is the media which is creating negative vibes on the terrorist front because ‎how you report what you do, encourages, makes heroes of terrorists and lets ‎down those who are fighting against terrorists. I'm talking of the Western ‎media as well as parts of Pakistani media. You distort sometimes without ‎knowing, maybe it is unintentional, in many cases, several cases that I know ‎there are people who intentionally distort to let down somebody. There is, in ‎Pakistan at least, there is a political element involved. So therefore my ‎disappointment and dismay is that we may ultimately lose this battle against ‎terrorism because of the way the media projects the counter-terrorism war. ‎That is my inner feeling."‎
Post a comment if you understand what is happening. This was said by a man who commands ‎‎620,000 armed men and has the dangerous privilege to command nuclear weapons. ‎Can this man really be trusted with all this power when clearly he is loosing not only ‎control over the northern areas of Pakistan but there is good reason to doubt that he is ‎loosing control over his own sense. The woman who was interviewing him asked him ‎a question on Sunday. He asked her if she was there or not. ‎
He also said that he had asked a lot of people and they had confirmed that the ‎emergency was the way. He clarified that these were not the "yes men" but people ‎who say their mind. Here is another sign that the general is loosing it. He cannot tell ‎the difference between yes men and people who say their mind. If the general was in ‎his sense he would have known that there are a million voices that are asking him to ‎get out. Can he hear them? Are the voices in his head getting louder? What are they ‎going to tell him next? How scared are you? ‎
Comments are welcome. ‎

Learn to Speak Martian 2 ‎

Here is another lesson on Martin, the official language that would be spoken since the ‎Martians invaded ten days a go. ‎

Here are some exampled from the Martian run news agency. You can find more of them ‎on the following website www.app.com.pk. ‎

Remember that Martian is diametrically opposite to English and logic and reason don’t ‎apply. With that we start todays lesson. ‎

Pakistan’s geo-strategic location, conducive policies attracting investment: President

Translation: Why the f*&% would you invest in Pakistan? Don’t you have any better ‎place to invest? I have taken this place to the dogs. If you are too dumb to not realize that, ‎then you should suffer the consequences. ‎

Islamabad Consumers Protection (Amendment) Ordinance, 2007 promulgated

After the media and the judiciary it is time for the ordinary consumer to take a banana in ‎the hole. ‎

Price Control and Prevention of Profiteering and Hoarding (Amendment Ordinance, 2007 promulgated)‎

Just in case you escaped the first one. Here is another one to control the dangerous public. ‎

People across country laud elections announcement: PM

People in the country would be laughing their asses off if the situation was not that ‎serious. This is a great achievement. ‎

Journalists’ economic empowerment government achievement: Durrani

Yes the journalists in Pakistan are having a ball of time. Their jobs are secure and they ‎are allowed to work fearlessly as possible. Yeah right. ‎

An Image Of Defiance ‎

Free Pakistan

This is the most powerful image that has come out of this movement. I don’t know much ‎about this protest but the image just held me for a while. There is hope. At least that is ‎what I would like to think for today. ‎

Don’t pay your cable bill. Put pressure back. Spread the message. ‎

Here is a simple action that would allow you to ensure that your protest is registered with a bang.

Call your cable operator and make sure that he understands that.

If you make the payment you are supporting the tyranny that rules Pakistan today. You could further help by simply spreading this message to friends and families.
